Historic - Canso Crash near Tofino

On Feb 10, 1945, Canso 11107 departed Tofino airport with 12 on board. Shortly after takeoff the port engine failed. Unable to turn or climb, the pilot was forced to make a crash landing in the bogs around Radar Hill. All 12 people on board survived. The aircraft still remains there to this day.
